These terms govern use of unscene, an independent movie and TV discovery, library and group-planning service operated by JHM, the site owner.
Using unscene
Use the service lawfully and meet the age and account requirements of ChatGPT sign-in. unscene is not intended for children under 13. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in account secure and for the accuracy and appropriateness of information you submit.
Do not impersonate someone, harass participants, submit unlawful content, attempt unauthorized access, bypass access controls, or disrupt the service. Do not submit private information about other people without permission. Access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security issues or legal obligations.
Rooms and movie nights
Sharing a room link or code allows other signed-in people to join. Room hosts manage the session, and participants control their own answers and availability. A proposed or confirmed movie night is a planning record, not a booking or a guarantee that someone will attend, host or provide a title.
You are responsible for arranging any meeting, checking suitability and access, obtaining permission to use a location, and complying with applicable screening and copyright rules. Owning a disc or paying for a subscription does not necessarily grant public-performance rights.
Your information and submissions
You retain your rights in information you submit. You authorize the service to store, process and display it to the extent needed to provide its features, including sharing room-related information with participants. Our privacy policy describes those uses and current controls.
The service is not a guaranteed backup. You should not rely on it as the only record of important plans or a media collection.
Catalogs, matches and viewing access
Title information, ratings, posters, season metadata and streaming offers come from external sources and may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate or unavailable. Discovery is not the entire IMDb catalog. Matches depend on participants’ saved answers and may not reflect changes they have not recorded.
Disc ownership and streaming subscriptions are self-reported. Availability may vary by region, season, edition, account tier and date. unscene does not sell or stream films, verify entitlements, process retailer purchases or guarantee that a group can legally access a title.
External links and purchases
Links to IMDb, streaming services, Criterion and retailers are provided for convenience. Those services operate independently and have their own terms and privacy policies. unscene does not control or endorse their content, products or services, and does not guarantee link accuracy, availability, prices, title editions, regional access or security.
Confirm the destination, edition, format, region compatibility, total price, subscription conditions and availability before buying or subscribing. Any transaction is with the external provider. Questions about purchases, delivery, refunds or subscriptions must be addressed to that provider. See the source and link disclosures for how destinations are selected.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by applicable law, unscene and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted service, preservation of every record, error-free results, successful notification delivery, or safe and available third-party destinations.
Limits and rights that remain
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service or independent third-party destinations. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights, remedies, duties or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes applicable mandatory consumer protections.
Ownership, changes and questions
Titles, posters, logos, ratings and other third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights. Source attribution and an external link do not transfer ownership or grant permission to reproduce those materials. unscene is not affiliated with or endorsed by IMDb, Stremio, Criterion, Barnes & Noble, Amazon or any listed streaming service.
